• This is the most common call for automatic gates


• If you have safety photo eyes, make sure they are clear of any obstructions

(Trees, bushes, alarm/company signs etc) 


• We recommend having your gate serviced once a year 


• Bugs, spiders and such will sometimes cause an issue with safety eyes. 

(Your technician will clear this out on a service visit to avoid further damage)


• It is common to find the gate is erratic during or after a rainstorm. 

(If you think the gate is not working, wipe off the photo eyes to clear rain drops first)


• Keypad is in hold open mode. Make sure your keypad or hold switch if supplied, is off


• Power outage is a common problem. Check to confirm you have power to the gate


• Sometimes after a power outage the gate will need to be reset


• If it has battery backup, the batteries may need replacement



• If the gate is put into manual mode:

(Make sure it is put back into automatic mode by locking the release mechanisms)



Hinges are frozen and/or needs grease 

(Yearly service is required to keep your gates operating smoothly)


Hinges greased; operators lubed at pivot points etc



• Put your gates in manual mode and move the gates to the open position


• Call your technician and have them explain or show you how to release your gates


•Turn off the power


•Call for service



• Open your gates and turn the power off


•This is when the most damage will occur. When the gates are trying to operate in bad weather, problems will occur. 



•  Your gate needs an adjustment. It is most likely encroaching into the safety eyes. 


• Open and turn off the power


• Call for service



• Power washing is ok but the following works just as well: 


• Soft scrub or bleach for stuck on grime


• We recommend using a boat brush to apply and wash
